Oscar de la Renta is in that group of utterly civilized designers, which we really dig. There are so many ways to convey sex (if you even care to) without being declasse. It can be knowing how to lower your eyelids so you look a little sleepy. How to move your mouth when you're speaking. Little things you do with your hands. Sexy comes from inside. The right woman could look sexy in muslin if she believes she's hot so what's left? Picking killer clothes. You're an onion, with a million layers, and you can be sexy, covered, vintage, retro, modern, naked, buttoned up - whatever you like. Just don't be trashy. You don't lose your sexy that easily, girl. And certain male designers made enduring careers based on style and not sexuality; Bill Blass, Valentino, Geoffrey Beene, Oscar de la Renta. From the 60's "Boutique" label, de la Renta's black tulle gown with sheer sleeves and inner column of black silk crepe, it is dotted with silver mirrored paillettes (think sequins on steroids - the kind you lose a testicle or two from taking, okay?). Embroidered in silver, it sort of creates this black haze around you while outlining you in midnight underneath. Keyhole neckline, this needs one of those Veronica Hamel/mid-1960's Vogue hairstyles of chignon with tiny braids looped in Saturn rings all around it. It's space age and polished. Love it. Bust measures 35", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 23", waist 28" and length 56". Excellent condition. $395.00
