1970s Yves Saint Laurent Halter Twinset

always the epitome of french style Yves Saint Laurent was a brilliant, brilliant designer. Able to please all women, his collections represented every facet of a woman's personality - from vamp to virgin. And even when he borrowed from Russian peasants, he was always so very Parisian. A slinky Mako cotton (Egyptian with a slight sheen) twinset of a button front halter and matching short sleeved cardigan that is meant to remain open without the placket quite touching. Navy blue with emerald, ruby and white stripes of varying widths, we think this is smashing with crisp white poplin short shorts and sky high vintage Charles Jourdan platform slingbacks. A whole lotta leg then, right? Right. Sized for a modern 6 or very small 8, both pieces are 25" long so they should hit you at the hipbone or slightly below for full curve effect. Flawless, unworn condition with original price tags. $320.00
