A staple piece throughout Yves Saint Laurent's collections of the 60s and 70s, the collarless jacket always came in a wool for autumn and perhaps a quilted Provenç cotton for spring. Loden green wool and cashmere is trimmed in charcoal grey cotton webbing and fastens along the placket with braided charcoal leather buttons. While it is definitely a low-key design, it is also highly versatile - changing its mood from almost military when paired with Marc's cotton trousers and a Balenciaga bag to chic Parisian over a Sonia Rykiel pleated skirt and vintage Saint Laurent high-heeled mary janes. Lined in dark bronze silk satin, there are besom pockets and larger pockets at the hip. Gathered shoulders add a touch of softness and the construction is flawless. Made for the Rive Gauche label, the bust measures up to 38", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 21.5" and length 24". Excellent condition. sold |
