Nobody here is trying to fool you; part of wearing vintage clothing is about picking stuff that is age appropriate. Of course, while that may be relative, some rules apply when choosing things for yourself. We don't care much for seventy-year-old women in leather, not even Ann-Margret. Not overly fond of fifty-year-olds in tube tops and True Religion jeans, not even Goldie Hawn. And don't want to spend too much time seeing 18-year-olds with Hermes Kelly bags and 40-year-old boyfriends. Another thing to consider... if you remember wearing it the first time around, maybe you shouldn't go there again. We figure this dress dates to the very early 1960s so a woman who is about, hmmmmm, 65 is going to look stupid in it. Do you disagree? But a woman under 30 who is sporting Miu Miu lilac patent mary janes and a trendy Chloe bag is going to be freaking adorable. Grey charcoal wool knit with a paler grey-backed ruffle running down the placket from Adella Paris. Cropped sleeves that end in a big ring of wool ruffle and a flat charcoal bow at the V neckline are perky, girlie and young in all the right ways. Bust measures 38", shoulder to shoulder 14.5", outer sleeve 18" and length 41". Excellent condition. sold |
