If you think your pot holders don't have to be attractive, try pulling a pan of brioche from the oven (in the presence of a few friends that know the difference between short pastry and pie crust) with a wadded up pair of sweatpants. Look, we're not asking you to make phyllo from scratch - that's just plain stupid, but when your food is cooked and served in pretty vessels, it adds to the hype of the food. If that weren't true, every fine restaurant would look like the inside of the coffee shop on Seinfeld and serve their food on paper plates.
