1970s Pauline Trigere Dress Suit with Black Fox

black on black Different fashion houses are known for different things; some make their name on avant garde design, some on hype and some on pure luxury. While Pauline Trigere was much too much down to Earth to allow herself to be touted as the snooty luxury type, she was by far one of the few designers who consistently used the most spectacular fabric. You will not find Trigere dresses in double-knit polyester or plastic coats ever. And while her designs are beautiful to look at, they could almost be a blind woman's dream come true because they would meet and exceed anyone's expectations for what good fabric is. A spectacular black wool and cashmere flannel dress with princess seams and split sleeves hemmed in lush black fox. With that, a matching cropped jacket with turnback cuffs and another stroke of black fox fur. Gently curved though the waist for shape, the weight of the fur holds the smooth, long lines. Jacket fastens at the neck with one tiny covered button and both pieces are lined entirely in black silk crepe de chine. Bust measures 36", shoulder to shoulder 15", waist 30", hips 38" and length 36". Jacket has a 21" outer sleeve and is 16" long. Both pieces are in excellent condition. $685.00
