We take a lot of fashion cues from Jimi Hendrix and will continue to even when the fashion cognoscenti deems his look "out". But Jimi's layering defies logic - you cannot analyze the way he dressed, you just gotta do it. Start with an embroidered Dries Van Noten blouse with ruffles all along the front and layer a vintage suede vest over that. Then back to Dries for a cropped embroidered wool vest to put over the suede one and a Yohji Yamamoto wool boucle scarf in varying shades of orange over that. Ripped jeans? Whipstitched leather pants? An Ann Demuelemeester skirt wirth Patti Smith lyrics beaded on to the seams? Your call but whatever you do, keep piling it on, Jimi... oops, we mean "girlfriend". Brown hacking suede (what one friend calls the "curdled" kind) edged in enamel coated decorative snaps. Does not close, just, you know, layers.
