While Giuliana Coen certainly did not limit herself to velvet for her Roberta di Camerino label, it is the thing you think of first when she comes to mind. Wonderful textures and deep jewel colors, her luscious, heavy fabrics are the best of her collections and hold up beautifully decade after decade. A sapphire blue cotton velvet coat that is cut slim, but curvy, through the body with no showy details save for the stamped belted R gold buttons along the placket. A sober layer over a wildly printed Emilio Pucci lilac silk dress, there are inseam pockets at both hips and a full midnight blue silk crepe lining.
