We work with almost all of the best known design houses and we always love watching how an old piece gets reinterpreted for an upcoming season. Most designers use vintage as a starting point, adding their own bits here and there to make it something fresh and new. Others will copy a dress, line for line, and slap their own name in it. Oops. It sort of takes the fun out of modern shopping for us because we can always tell an original from a copy. This dress was successfully copied almost ten years ago by a woman who is now h-o-t but we can't look at her version without cringing a little. Fabulous the first time around, a little old hat when copied, an ivory synthetic jersey dress edged in black and mocha grosgrain ribbon that is at its best when vintage. Shaped to the hilt through the bodice with wide kimono sleeves and a handkerchief hem. Bust measures 36", waist 27" and length 48" at its longest. Excellent condition. sold |
