First created in 1915, Raggedy Ann lived in perfect, feminine bliss until little brother Andy came along three years later. Don't go for that innocent act - oh no, this brother and sister duo were more colorful than Joan Crawford and Bette Davis in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?". With Ann as Bette's character, Jane Hudson, paralyzed llittle Andy (Blanche) is confined to his tiny doll bed while Ann plots to murder him behind her childlike but nonetheless creepy mask of rosy cheeks and Shirley Temple-curls. Ha, and you thought this was some goody two shoes Christian tale of kindness and honesty. Oh stop. A mischievous printed cotton jumper with Raggedy Ann and Andy all over, buttoning from the waist up in back and tying in a big bow at the small of the back. This is open from the waist down in back so we would think about wearing something more than a thong under here although the sprirt of Jane might make you do otherwise. Anything from pink and white gingham capris to a long white cotton dirndl skirt would be great, letting just a stroke of skin show beteen the waistband of the under layer and the top of the jumper placket. Decorative buttons in front, the bust measures 34", waist 26" and length 48". Excellent condition. $245.00 |
