1970s Emilio Pucci Printed Silk Crepe Apron Dress

popovers aren't just for breakfast anymore Inspired by Claire McCardell's popover dress, Emilio Pucci set about to making one of his own quirky wrap dresses in his inimitable floral fabric. Instead of silk jersey, he used silk crepe de chine and the construction is insanely clever. Slips on over the head like a sandwich board, there are ties on the back half that come around the waist and tie in front, under the front half, which wraps and ties over the panel in back. Sounds complicated but even a woman who shops at K-Mart for her clothes could figure it out. Oh sorry, did we sound snobbish? C'mon though, K-Mart? Target's one thing but please. Mango background with bright pink flowers in shades of bubble gum to fuchsia. Pleated at the midriff, the sleeves are easy. Sized for so many different bodies, this will fit a modern 6 to 10 and is 42" long. Excellent, if not flawless, condition. sold
