There are women who love the whole idea of vintage and some who only like certain vintage things. Then there are diehard "new" shoppers who eschew anything old (bleccch) or used (ewwwwww) who have to actually be tricked into taking something home that is not fresh off the press. Usually the women who won't go for vintage are over 60 (they were there the first go 'round) or who think their collection of pieces from The Limited are so totally cutting edge that other girls are actually jealous. Yeah, sure. Once in a blue moon there is something so feminine and timeless that it appeals to just about every girl, no matter what her choronologic bent. A classic black cocktail dress with black lace bodice from Peggy Hunt. Just slipping off the shoulders with a delicate black velvet ribbon and bow strap on either side. the top is backed in nude lace while the rest of the dress is a simple curve of black silk crepe. Honestly just a dress for everyone and anyone, we can't imagine this not being a simple knockout with Jean-Michael Cazabat embroidered heels and a tiny antique Whiting and Davis mesh purse. Bust measures 38", waist 30", hips 40" and length 45.5". Sized for a modern 10 or tiny 12 with a decent bra size, you must be able to look good in a strapless bra to pull this off. Excellent condition with the exception of a water spot on the nude underlay of the bust. $375.00 |
