Referencing the great Gilbert Adrian, this is the dress that should have gone with Dorothy's ruby red slippers. The fabulously slinky and sexy witch you never did see got to keep the dress while poor virginal Dorothy skipped around in ignorantly gingham'd bliss. Ossie's spangled ruby gown is proof positive that he was a master of construction. Tiny swirling clusters of sparkling cerise glitter dance across the entire gown. A simple column from the front turns around to a stunning back that collects in glistening waves right at the small of the back. Buttons at the back of the neck with five satin buttons. Made of viscose, while not overly weighty, it is substantial enough to simply slip down into place all by itself without wiggling or pulling. Label is simply "Ossie Clark" in gold on black. A brilliant dress by an artist who intuitively knew when to to work the fabric and when to just leave it be. His work was natural yet sophisticated. Size 8, above 5'7" or so, and not meant for a woman with too many curves - this dress was made for Carina Frost so body proportions like hers will be helpful in deciding if this is the look your're after.
