Sometimes, when vintage trends dictate a new designer du jour, you'll find a million pieces by that person crawling out of the woodwork. Not Ossie Clark and what a damn shame. Clark's clothing is still enough of a rarity so they don't become like that song you thought you loved but grew totally sick of after you've heard it eight million trillion times. His work also deserves every single bit of the hype it gets - it's that great. This two piece dress is fabulous. From the long skirt that's very fitted through the hips and flares at the hem (making your ass look amazing and perky) to the super-wide pointed collared halter with a peplum waist, it leaves no question as to who made it. In fire engine red moss crepe, it is weighty and fluid and swings in slow motion when you move. The blouse zips up the back and is gathered right below each breast and where the collar joins the bodice. Platform shoes are best with this as Clark's clothing was usually paired with Manolo Blahnik platforms and they are absolutely appropriate with his pieces. Bust on the blouse measures 34" and waist 26" with a length of 27". Skirt has a 26" waist, 36" hips and is 44" long. Sized for a solid 6 or very small 8 and bears the Ossie Clark for Radley tag. Both pieces are in excellent, if not flawless, condition with the exception of a faint water shadow near the hem. $825.00 |
