While Bottega Veneta is known primarily for woven leather to the point of seeming like they invented the technique, let us remind you that some ideas go back to picturing Eve making her own bags in the Garden of Eden. Seriously, how else would she have a wardrobe of bags without the first Saks? Then along came the Iroquois... they were weaving leather. Heck, even Morris Moskowitz was doing it. A gorgeous cognac leather basketweave bag somewhere between Bottega, Gucci and Hermes with the strappy detail on top. Borrowing from so many different influences, the thing that is super nice about this is nobody will ever be able to tell who made it and that is always a plus. Obviously well made but then the guessing begins. Double compartments and gusseted with smooth leather, the interior is lined in a slightly paler shade of brown. 10.5" wide by 9" high with 5.5" double handles. Excellent condition. $185.00 |
