1980s Mario Valentino Black and Blue Suede Jacket

hey bruiser, why so black and blue? Mario Valentino is not the same designer as Valentino Garavani, simply known as Valentino, but the son of a shoemaker who formed the company in the early 50s. By the time the 80s rolled around, the company was making oddball leather and suede clothing that was a little Ziggy Stardust meets Madison Avenue and the name became really well known. A Joan Crawford inspired "swing" jacket of fluid black suede with sapphire blue sleeves that looks best with a long Romeo Gigli skirt and a simple silk pullover. Collarless, the draping falls from the yoke in swirls around your hips and the jacket buttons with a row of oversized glossy black buttons. Zippers at each wrist for a slim sleeve, it is lined in black rayon satin. Bust measures up to 40", shoulder to padded shoulder 16.5", outer sleeve 24.5" and length 30". Excellent condition. $195.00
