Beth Levine (the husband was Herbert) was the first female shoe designer to come along and blow traditional design ideas out of the water. Not ever trying to walk in Roger Vivier's footsteps, Beth gave us dozens of astounding shoe ideas from the Springolator to the boomerang heel. But Herbert Levine boots are special and you'll see them in everything from Shirley Maclaine's dance numbers in "Sweet Charity" choreograped by Bob Fosse to Raquel Welch tv specials. Spectacularly sexy black crinkled vinyl boots that pull on so they cling to your leg like a second skin. Everything about them is right - the shape of the toe to the height of the heel but you must powder the insides and wear thin socks or you will never be able to get them on and off. But once they're on, they're heaven. Well worth the extra trouble, these are gorgeous with pants and all those new short skirt/opaque leg combos you're going to see throughout spring and fall. 18" from floor to top with a 13" calf and 2.75" heel, these are size 9.5B and in flawless, unworn condition. sold |
