1960s Lawrence of London Velvet Coat with Removable Capelet

two completely different looks Admit it, buying a coat for the sake of keeping warm is about as convincing as unshaved underarms being sexy to a guy. Wait, let's qualify that - a guy who has actually dated other women in the last few years. Yeah sure, a coat has to do its job but that's easy enough in and of itself. To do its job and make you look really cool? That's a whole 'nother story. Lawrence of London's black velvet coat with a most clever capelet backed in satin that buttons right off the nape so you can have your proverbial cake and eat it too. Very fitted and lean, the capelet flaring out at the upper back is a delightful contrast to the slim cut and we love love love the flash of supple red satin lining. Fastens with highly polished chrome buttons to match the buckle, the entire coat is also lined in the same glossy cherry red fabric. Matching velvet belt and flap pockets over each hipbone, everything about this is soft. High-waisted Karen Walker black pants and Roberto del Carlo boots - we dare someone else to show up in the same coat. Bust measures 36", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 22.5" and total length 43". Excellent condition. sold
