If you've ever been to a vintage hat auction, you know there are some freaky types out there all ga-ga for antique hats. The most annoying part is that they are these thoroughly unstylish women (and we're not talking about slumming while at work) with hideous dye jobs and sneakers on, snatching up these elaborate hats to hang around their house. Yikes. So when you see something like this sitting on the head of a woman in clothes that came from a sporting goods salvage house (delivered by a truck that had been in a bad accident), you want to wrestle her to the ground and make her swear she will have her color done in a salon from now on or you are coming to her house and repossessing all of her hats. A stunning Laddie Northridge hat of multilayered black tulle, undulating along the edges of the brim. Gorgeous with either vintage Balenciaga from the 50s or a contemporary corseted suit from Vivienne Westwood. One small flat bow at the back of the crown, the brim is 17" wide.
