If you've ever watched the guys on the Howard Stern Show "critique" a woman who wants to know if she's hot or not, you know that those guys can be brutal. Aside from the fact that there could not be a bunch of more hideous men to sit around and pass judgement on some poor, insecure woman - they sometimes make a point that has merit. Take their advice about open-toed shoes; most women do not have pretty enough feet to wear such things and would fare better if they wore shoes that had a closed toe. It's true. And while you may say, "Who cares if my feet are not gorgeous?", the designer who made those 650 dollar shoes cares. You cannot put corns and callouses in a Rodolphe Menudier slide! You cannot cram an ugly stepsister foot into a delicate Chanel sandal, just like you can't pack a 240-pound woman into an Alaia dress. It just doesn't look good. But this does not mean you have to wear Arche shoes with a vintage Halston evening gown. The designers at Charles Jourdan were the masters of their craft through the 70s. A wonderful pair of wine suede pumps piped in metallic gold leather, crossing over the Achilles tendon to wrap around the front of the ankle. Feminine and sexy, the heel is 4" high and these are size 10B. Excellent condition. sold |
