American fashion throughout the 70s was all so body conscious and sexy, you have to wonder how all those women stayed thin. That was a time before everyone got together at parties and compared notes on which diet they were on and how much they had lost. Oh wait, they were all coked out of their minds. Who the hell could eat when you're on an up high like that? And maybe Ornish, Atkins and Pritikin have the wrong idea - they're diets are too much work. Maybe all we really need a big bottle of Dexedrine and the soundtrack to "Thank God It's Friday". If you're all jaded on vintage shoes, you need to freshen up that passion by seeing Guy Bourdin's photos of Charles Jourdan's shoes. Sexy images of women with mile-long legs in gorgeous shoes. Surreal photos of Jourdan-shod feet and no body crossing a road in a double beam of car headlights. You see those pictures and you think, "I must have vintage Charles Jourdan shoes". Amber lucite soles that are padded at the heel and toe so you can see the arch of the foot through the bottom of the shoes. Strappy canvas uppers in beige cotton canvas with a thin ankle strap that rings the ankle and then buckles at the side. 3.75" Lucite heel in size 9B, they are in excellent condition with the exception of soiling on the insole which does not show when the shoe is being worn. sold |
