Jean Muir was a real woman's woman of a designer, making understated clothing that never screamed for attention but got lots of it just the same. Known primarily for her matte jersey pieces, they have a timless appeal that speaks to smart women. A floor-length red matte rayon jersey evening gown that has a matching turban trimmed in braiding. The entire dress is spangled in red paisley glitter but not too much glitter - just right, just like you would expect from Jean Muir. Constructed with curved seams, the weight of the jersey and the piecing makes this dress hang perfectly. Belts at the waist with an optional matching belt with transparent tinted Lucite buckle. Asian in feel, the channel-stitched band collar closes at the throat with two loop and buttons, otherwise this dress is devoid of hardware. This is a gorgeous, dramatic look reminiscent of Marina Schiano and we love the idea of a red, lacquered Japanese clutch and red satin slingbacks to keep with the red vibe. Made in London, the bust measures 38", shoulder to shoulder 16.5", outer sleeve 26" and length 57". Turban will fit a 23" head. Excellent condition. $930.00 |
