When you're invited to a summer outdoor wedding, do you think immediately think about how not to look like you steppped out of a steam shower in a rayon dress? There has to be a fine line between showing up at a party dressed like an extra on Baywatch but not so dressed up you look ready to ski. A summer suit! Irene's caramel and ivory woven silk suit with cropped sleeves and straight skirt. The only trick to pulling off a suit without looking like a 70-year-old editor at Doubleday is hair, shoes and jewelry. Dries Van Noten sleigh bell bracelets? Balmain sandals? Messy hair? Certainly not square-toed Vivier pumps, pearls and a chignon - it's too much of a vintage 'look'.
