Chances are if you're hanging around vintage shops you lean toward offbeat and same holds true when it comes to modern fashion too. Usually girls who own a Courreges thingamajig or two are not wearing too much Liz Claiborne so if we say Grey Ant to you, you're not going to be saying, "Uhhhh, who?". From Karen Walker and Grey Ant to Cheap Monday and LIPS (and who can beat a name like that), you have at least one pair of high-waisted pants. We're not talking below the belly button but higher than pubic hair, we're talking under the ribcage high. High. But the long, hip-length tops that are meant to be worn with low-rise pants don't work. After all, what's the point of wearing super duper rise denim if you don't show off how slim your hips are and well, how freaking risky you are to be wearing your pants up to there. Mainstream look out, these are not the pants for the chubby muffin top-plagued masses. Nothing is going to pair better with the newest jeans than something very 1970s teenage girly. Nik-Nik blouses. Popcorn tops (tube tops if you're really going for it) and Huk-A-Poo sweaters. An ivory sleeveless shell with an intarsia rose at the right collarbone and scalloped edges, it ties at the nape of the neck with a sweet sweater bow. this is great with nothing underneath or with a vintage Ossie Clack bishop-sleeve blouse poking out every which way. Acrylic with a ribbed waistband, it measures 34" and length 21". Excellent condition. sold |
