What is affectionately refrerred to as the "Kelly" bag is really the Haut a Courroies in Hermes terminology. But after Grace Kelly was snapped holding hers in front of a very pregnant tummy in 1956, the nickname stuck. And good thing it has been dubbed the Kelly because most people can't even say Camembert much less Haut a Courroies. Gorgeous with everything, the classic above all classic Hermes Kelly cannot be faked - the quality won't be there. Each one is made by hand by a single craftsman and feels gorgeous to touch and carry. The 32 cm (that's 13" across) wine "supple" which is a slouchier, softer version of the "rigide", with 18k plated hardware, lock and clochette with two keys. Lined in wine goat leather with one zippered and two patch pockets, it is in excellent condition and does look 'vintage' (some scuffs and very minor fading), which shows that you've allegedly owned this bag long before mainstream deemed it cool. $4300.00 |
