1970s Bill Gibb Wrap Sweater Coat

unusual without being weird Our most overused disclaimer is the one where we apologize beforehand for offending the people we are about to offend. We do it often - and we do it well. You know this type of woman; a little overweight with designer glasses from some Japanese department store in NY. She mostly wears black because she doesn't like her body but she wears colorful scarves by different textile artists to liven up her dull wardrobe. Her shoes are always 'sensible' and she's most likely some sort of therapist in real life. And she probably has a Sub-Zero in her kitchen and loves Le Bernardin's monkfish. Stereotype, yes, but you know who we're talking about. All that is what not to do with this coat. What you want to do is here is a pair of crazy-soft suede Maud Frizon thigh-high boots, blown-out vintage Levi's button fly jeans and a Rick Owens sheer tank. You want to be Goldie Hawn eccentric - not art show quirky. Bill Gibb's fantastic knitted wool coat in rust and black with brilliant blasts of cobalt, periwinkle, lavender and red. The two pockets are on the front panel so when it is wrapped and tied, they sit on the front instead of over each side. Long attached wool ties wrap around the coat but do not go through a side seam so the coat remains intentionally slouchy when closed. Sized for everyone from a tall 6 to a 10, the nape to waist measurement (where the belt is) is about 22" so petite won't work here. Sleeve length 23" and total length 43" Excellent consition. sold
