You don't have to consider yourself a collector to want to have a fabulous representation from a list of killer designers but it does help to think like a museum when buying each piece. Ask yourself if it's representative. While most labels, like Courreges, will have a disctinctive look, some things are more Courreges than others and those are the things you'll want to have. If you were to have only one Gucci bag, you'd want a big GG logo. If you were going to have Rudi Gernreich, you'd probably want colorblocked wool. If you were after Carlos Falchi, the drawstring bag in buffalo leather is the Falchi to have. Soft soft soft black leather, it is really just a simple bag but the cinched flap makes it so Falchilicious special.
