Some of us are Moms, painfully aware of all the different things that are out there for our kids to wear. And you had better believe that if Dries Van Noten was good enough for Mommy, it was good enough for her kiddies until he stopped making little clothes - damn him. Not so sure we'd say the same for children's designers making their way into our closets though. Oilily for a grown woman? Uhhhh, no thanks. Some of that stuff that makes your son look like Little Lord Fauntleroy? Never never never. Matching Lilly Pulitzer outfits? Shoot us, we don't want to live. Florence Eiseman is a children's clothing label and while she no longer makes women's clothes, we're thinking this was clearly one designer who did better with the grown up stuff than tike togs. A fabulous geometric wool skirt in crystal clear vivid hues of sapphire, cherry, lemon, Granny Smith green, black and white. So very perfect with Bonnie Cashin's leather tunics and Courreges ribbed turtlenecks, the fabric and the cut are winners in every respect. Lined in black silk with a back zip and slit to the knee on both sides, if you want to call this a hostess skirt, we would be happy to make pigs in blankets and have you over for martinis. Waist 25", hips 36" and length 40". Excellent condition. $180.00 |
