The 1980s were an abrupt departure from the California girl 1970s and everything was about vivid color and unnatural proportions. Whether it was shoulder pads, the height of a neon pink stiletto heel or the altered shade of natural leather, everyone tweaked everything in the 80s. Italian designer Enrico Coveri, who died in 1990, was known for flashy color. His oversized pouchy shoulder bag in olive embossed leather to look like croc has all the look of what was good about the 80s. Subtly stamped, the effect is more distressed than obviously reptilian and the variation between the body of the bag and the darker frame is really nice. Suspended from a long skinny strap with holes to adjust the length, is closes with two snap closures and is lined in black cotton faille with one interior zippered pocket. "EC" on a small leather tag on the upper front, we love this with a camel coat and forest green A.P.C suede boots. 17" wide by 11.5" high with a single 18" maximum hang. Excellent condition. $345.00 |
