1970s Andre Courreges White Wool Coat

enoki seal of approval

Andre Courreges made many claims in his day that would make any other designer sound like an arrogant egotist but from the lips of Courreges, it comes off as only factual. He also happens to be the one designer whose work apeals to everyone, from conservative Fifth Avenue types to girls who love outrageous vintage. Not only marked by a certain distinctive look but his flawless tailoring, this winter white wool coat is quintessential Courreges. Curved welted seams and intense detail in the most minimalist way, there is not one single adornment that is not integral to the structure and function of this coat. A collarless neckline and a slightly A-lined skirt has polished stainless steel buttons and a belt that tucks under loops that blast the old "form follows function" theory. Form continually meets function here. Wide cuffs with a pair of highly polished buttons on each and low cuffed pockets at each hip. Lined entirely in white acetate, the bust measures 36", shoulder to shoulder 14.5", outer sleeve 23.5" and total length 41.5". "Courreges Paris" label and if you are acquainted with his sizing, size A. Ideally sized for a solid 6, this coat is in FLAWLESS condition, inside and out - hard to do on a dark coat, nearly impossible in white, nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah. sold
