The resurgence in Courreges' popularity in the past few years was certainly not because of anything Courreges was currently doing. Mostly considered a 60's design house, the husband and wife team of Andre and Coqueline have been working continuously - crafting their distinct style even when nobody seemed to be paying attention (except Japan). So when they were hot again, they were already in a great position. For collectors however, the later styles seem to be a lot of rehash from the early days so they ignorantly stick with the 60s and early 70s pieces. Oh what you're missing. A fantastic sexy little knit dress in red and white stripes, this one has a bit of an Alaia vibe. Dips verrrry low in front, it is a cotton and acrylic blend to hold its shape and color. Knit with built-in curves, this emphasizes a body that is naturally small on top and curvy through the waist and hips. Gorgeous with vintage Charles Jourdan ankle-strap sandals and a stack of Lea Stein bangles. Ideal for a modern 6 (with no bra obviously), it is 36" long and in flawless condition. $340.00 |
