Andre Courreges and his designing partner/wife, Coqueline, incorporated logos into their work in the late 60s to distinguish their original pieces from the many copies but the thing about Courreges is that it doesn't need the logo to make its true identity known - re: this stunning jumper dress. While you may see things that are styled similarly, you will NEVER find the quality and exacting detail in any other piece other than a real Courreges. Very much the artists in this sense, the team refused to cut corners to make their clothing easier to produce - their vision was absolutely pure and their dedication to it was almost fanatical - thank G-d. The power of simplicity is evident in this wool jumper dress - which in anyone else's collection would be a separate. No, this is such a quintessential Courreges dress that was designed to be worn with everything from a very simple pink ribbed sweater to pasties in the shape of small wool daisies. More the color of true French vanilla, there is a wide smooth waistband and straps that button down in front and back, to be worn as shown or criss-crossed. The buttons are like perfectly round SweeTarts in white and the pockets are integral parts of the design, while being highly functional. We love this a simple Bonnie Cashin tangerine cashmere turtleneck and Sigerson Morrison knee-high white boots. Made for their Couture Futur line, this is lined in white acetate and has a waist of 24", hips 32" and length from shoulder to hem os 39". Flawless condition. sold |
