Andre and Coqueline Courreges have used the same patterns, textile manufacturers and silhouette since the 1960s but still - the vintage stuff reigns supreme. Before the year-long retirement toward the latter part of the 60s, Courreges clothing had one label. After the return of Andre to designing, the house was split into three divisions - Protoype, Couture Futur and Hyperbole so if you're going to get snobby about your Courreges, this is definitely the piece to do it in. Dating to about 1965, this undoubtedly incredible synthetic fleece coat is banded with milk chocolate brown vinyl and polished chrome buttons. As soft as the fluffiest stuffed animal, everything about this is right - the feel, the cut and the vibe. Quintessential Courreges, this is a stunning example of the funky side of the house of Courreges. Pocket at one breast and one hip, these alone are fat and fluffy and almost architectural. With whipstitched Goffredo Fantini suede boots, a dark brown ribbed wool turtleneck and Chanel camel wool trousers, you have every right to have attitude in this because it is so freaking amazing and everyone will know it. Lined in snow white acetate, the bust measures 34", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 24.5" and length 46". Excellent condition - the vinyl is flawless and the fleece totally fluffy. sold |
