One of the important things about buying designer vintage is to know what is representative of each designer and to not shell out top dollar for stuff that isn't. A lot of pieces that are not representative get touted as "rare" but that isn't always true. And rare is certainly not synonymous with best. With Halston - draped jersey is one of the things to look for. Gernreich had his evening gowns with attached silver collars and bracelets or the two-tone colorful knits. Bonnie Cashin had her colorful leathers and tweeds with turnlock closures. And Courreges had the palest of wool coats that spelled out luxury. You can wear a black coat for a couple of years without having it cleaned (unh huh) but Andre and Coqueline Courreges found it disgusting and rebelled with their white and pastel coats that gave off damn near virginal vibes. Quintessential of this label, a pale pale beige coat in combed wool with tan leather buttons and belt. Signature welted seams, epaulets and a demilune yoke in back, it is lined in white crepe. Created for the Couture Future label, the bust measures 38", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 24.5" and length 43". Excellent condition. sold
