If you think vintage Coach and modern Coach are pretty much the same, think again. The leather on modern Coach bags is a lot duller and thicker - like the skin on your heels. Hey, if you walk on hot coals for a living - or, say, crushed glass, thick skin is a good thing but it doesn't make for a very graceful bag. We like to think it had something to do with the exacting standards Bonnie Cashin demanded because we all know Cashin took a baseball glove company and turned it into a serious accessories house. A roomy "stewardess" bag with front flap in cognac is one of the most distinctive vintage Coach designs - designed by Ms. Cashin herself and one of the most enduring in their design roster. Buckles join the strap to the body of the bag - this is unlined and bears the Coach stamped creed inside (this predates serial numbers however). Completely identical in every way to our earlier Bonnie Cashin for Coach bag with the only exception being in the labels. Measures 12.25" wide by 11" high with a single adjustable 12.25" to 17.5" strap. Excellent condition with gorgeous, even patina slong the top of the bag. sold |
