Loving a dress has to be about more than just the dress, you have to like who made it. Show us something fabulous by a guy that thinks owning a couple of photos of naked seven-year-old boys is okay and we're not going to love that dress so much anymore. So when we love a designer at enokiworld, it's because think highly of them as craftspeople and as human beings. Let's face it, fashion is not the most philanthropic of endeavors. Claire McCardell (like Bonnie Cashin) embodied everything we aspire to be as women; strong, kind, soft, creative, opinionated. Her vision was so progressive but her clothes were so freaking wearable. You really could run out to pick up some heavy cream and bellflowers in one of her dresses and nobody would really know you were wearing 'vintage'. Somehow they would all just think you were absolutely polished and adorable. A baby blue and white gingham shirtdress in her signature silhouette. Wing collar, buttoned short sleeves and fitted through the bodice with a breezy full skirt that has hidden pockets on both sides (a rarity in vintage dresses of that era). Buttons along the placket to the waist and comes with a baby blue leather belt, this was made for Townley of a cotton/synthetic blend voile that is slightly sheer. Bust measures 36", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 20.5", waist 25" and length 44.5". Excellent condition. $520.00 |
