1970s Bonnie Cashin Woven Linen Coat with Fringed Belt

love this color combination

an enokiworld fave is more than good looking but also highly representative of the designer who made it

Bonnie Cashin was a mass of contradictions; whimsical and practical. Urban and provincial. Grown-up and girlish. All the things you, yourself, would want to be as a woman. Maybe an 85-year-old grandmother who can still roller skate with the grandkids. A little old lady with a slick chignon in a pink coat who just happens to not look crazy. Our favorite color combination in the whole wide world of pink and tangerine. Young but not silly, everything about it is fresh and clean and happy. And who the hell uses pink leather like that? Nobody but Cashin! Woven linen and wool boucle with hints of celery and white, the belt keepers are polished gold. Band collar and fringed pink leather belt, this fastens along the placket with hidden prong closures. Silk crepe-lined pockets at both sides, this was made for Sills. Bust 40", shoulder to shoulder 16", outer sleeve 22" and length 41". Excellent condition. $710.00
