1970s Carol Horn Black Crepe Caftan

perspective is key here If one is so lucky as to have the face of someone like, oh say, Sharon Tate, clothes are really not an issue. If you also have the body of a, uhhhhh, Carmen Kass then again, clothes not an issue. But the rest of us cannot rely on face or body alone to wear things that could also be found in the closet of someone like, er... umm... Mama Cass. Let's be honest - caftans are not easy to wear unless you are completely flawless. They make normal bodies look overweight or pregnant. But they're also chic in all the right sort of Anita Pallenberg ways. It's all about the right caftan. Carol Horn's (this label used to be cool. What happened??) rayon crepe version with armholes that are stitched closed (think T) and smocking at the solar plexus so there's some shape in all that voluminous black. Contrast stitched in pink, we love this with a dramatic necklace that sits close to the neck and plain plain Maloles sandals. This will work for anyone from size 4 to size 10 and is 53.5" long. Excellent condition. sold
