Pierre Cardin wasn't really the king of sportswear but his designs have a sporty sex appeal that are easy to wear without being restricting or stuffy. But that's what the whole 60s Youthquake movement was about in a style sense - obliterating the uptight past and freeing your mind, your body and your spirit so you could do things and not move like a proverbial geisha with teeny tiny steps.
