The 70s were about the 40s, epecially with London designers, who have always drawn heavily on the past for inspiration. From Ossie Clark to Lee Bender of the holier than thou Bus Stop boutique, flirty skirts and Vargas girl peek-a-boo silhouettes were all the rage. So bust out the platforms, again, and slip into this adorable Bus Stop red and white check cotton skirt and crop top. Very sexy, with an exposed midriff and gathered shoulders, there is a matching sailor cap that goes with it. The only thing you need besides a huge Anna Sui hobo bag is bubble gum! Gently elasticized at the bottom of the blouse, it will cling to you where it should and gently blouse where it should. Nothing compares - the seventies did the pin-up 40s better than even the 40s did. Sized for a modern 6, the bust measures 34", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 13.5" and length 15". Skirt has a 24" waist and is 21.5" long. Hat has a 20" circumference. All three are in excellent condition with the exception of one tiny repair on the inside of the sleeve. $290.00 |
