1960s Contrast Stitched Black Leather Trench

the avengers revisited Between Bonnie Cashin and Emma Peel's wardrobe by John Bates on "The Avengers", black leather went from being very Marlon Brando to very Marlo Thomas. Some of the best stuff for women are spins on things that belong in the realm of true menswear; the white oxford shirt, wool trousers, a great pea coat, the trench. But how mysterious can a spy really look in a beige trench? For that full on Mata Hari vibe, black is the only way to go. Black leather. Emma Peel had it right and think back to Fiona Volpe in "Thunderball", racing James Bond on the back of her BSA Lightning. It wasn't Sean Connery who was the badass in that scene. A fabulous black leather trench, contrast stitched in white, with all the necessary details to make it one spectacular version of a classic. Epaulets and metal rings (so what if you won't have grenades hanging from yours?), there are deep slash pockets and belted wrists with a caped yoke in back. Slim fit with an exaggerated collar, this is it with an ivory wool turtleneck and sharply creased black wool pants with high Moschino plaid platform slingbacks. Lined in black crepe, the bust measures 38", shoulder to shoulder 17", outer sleeve 25" and length 48". Excellent condition. sold
