1970s Beth's Bootery Black Velveteen Boots

the velveteen rabbit uhhhh rabboot Boots are so good for so many reasons. They elongate the leg, hide stubbly legs (you do it, don't lie) and make socks and tights unnecessary. Nothing pulls together an autumn skirt and skinny turtleneck than boots and nothing keeps your calves toastier when the wind is feeling particularly malicious. Beth's Bootery's (the wife of Herbert Levine) did her own line of shoes for Saks that were wonderful and hip. Black cotton velveteen boots with covered velveteen heels (the covered heel always distinguishes a cheap-looking shoe from a soignee one) and a tiny lace detail at the top of the calf, outlined in gilded grommets with tiny gilded bell caps. Inside zip, they stand 17" from floor to top with a 2.5" heel and 13" calves for size 7M. Flawless, unworn condition.
