1970s Giorgio Armani Super Wide Wale Corduroy Newsboy Suit

armani worked for cerutti before going out on his own

an 'enokiworld fave' stamp means this item is a quintessential
representation from the designer, a rare find or just plain old supercalifragilisticexpialidocious cool.

Griogio Armani has been designing for his own label since the mid 70s but it wasn't until the 80s that his name became a household word. Only three houses could do a consistently fine suit in the 80s - Chanel, Koos van den Akker and Armani. But what Armani did for the suit is legendary. The man is all about the most intense understated luxury and if you could call his work 'neutral' then do it, because there is nothing flashy or trendy about his designs. This super wide wale cotton corduroy suit is stunningly simple, crafted with near surgical precision without the antiseptic chill of a doctor's touch. With dark camel poplin banding the outside of each arm and the high stand-up integral neckline, the knickers are what makes this suit shine. A completely fresh look, pair this with low velvet pumps with big satin bows at the vamp and silk herringbone knee-highs in sheer coffee. Slim with fullness only at the outside of the pleated leg, the waistband has an extended tab closure and is flat, which we always love. Made in Italy, the bust measures 34", shoulder to shoulder 16.5", outer sleeve 23" and length 24.5". Knickers have a 24" waist and 26" total length. Both are in excellent condition. $460.00
