1970s John Anthony Rose Silk Strapless Gown

on the enokiworld top ten fave list John Anthony and Halston were similarly minded designers but there is one very major difference. Maybe due to the lack of opportunity to shame himself, John Anthony never lost the respect of the fashion world by designing for JC Penney. He always remained a well-kept secret, relative to the popularity that Halston enjoyed. Another difference is that John Anthony knew how to swing from siren to tailored in the blink of an eye - even how to mix the two perfectly. A column of dusty rose silk crepe that echoes the heave of your breasts at the neckline. A wrap dress that is fastened in place, the overlapping layers form a beautiful, graceful inverted pleat down the front center of the dress. Adorned only by a flat, soft bow over the left breast - it could not be more simple or more elegant. A sophisticated dress that screams luxe but ends up sounding like a throaty Lauren Bacall whisper, or should we say whistle? Beautiful. Double layered and boned through the bodice for a smooth line and support, it measures 35", hips 38" and length 54". Excellent, if not flawless, condition. sold
