1980s Azzedine Alaia Teal Wool Skirt

the real eighties Only women who were 12 at the time think of the 1980s as a decade full of scrunchies and acid-wash jeans. For those of us who were old enough to buy our own clothes in good stores like Charivari, the 80s are about Alaia, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Jean Paul Gaultier and that sort of thing. And while much of the 1980s is ready to be revisited, it pretty much goes without saying that it is worn best with contemporary pieces to take away the 'retro' look. To wear with an oversized, sheer Tsumori Chisato blouse and high Haider Ackermann sandals, the only miniskirt that will EVER matter is one by Azzedine Alaia. Teal wool with a high waist and wide waistband, these are deceptively flattering and you do not have to have a flawless body to look great. Welted decorative seams down the back and on both sides (like seamed hose for your bum). Waist measures 24" maximum, hips 34" and length 22". Excellent condition. $240.00
