this is one of the things that made adolfo so great in the 60s

Adolfo should not be remembered as the designer who made those Chanel knock-off suits, although he does do them. His work in the 60s was phenomenal and sometimes totally over the top without being too young or too risque. A deep purple wool kilt that is pleated right by the end that wraps around your body - covered with tiny black felt appliques held on by tiny polished gold studs with black glass balls dotting the background. The diagonal black wool waistband is covered by stamped coins in all different sizes - just freaking fabulous! Wear this with black tights and a vintage purple wool Donna Karan bodysuit, Gaultier engineer boots on your feet and a giant Norma Kamali leather feedbag slung across your body. Unlined and cozy as a blanket, this is really unbelievably cool in all the right ways. Waist measures 25" and length is 26.5". Excellent condition. $485.00
