1930s Printed and Smocked Silk Chiffon Dress

everyone loves the 20s Everyone has their favorite old movie - a film with glamour and style that serves as great inspiration. For some women, it is Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face" or Brigitte Bardot in "And God Created Woman". Do you squeal with delight watching Jane Fonda clad in Paco Rabanne in "Barbarella"? The Giorgio di Sant'Angelo clothes in "Cleopatra Jones"? Still, for some, Norma Shearer is it in "A Free Soul". Norma had great style, wearing everything from Adrian's bias-cut satin gowns to floral chiffon beautifully. A vivid dress with tiered skirt and cloaked bodice, blooming with stylized chrysanthemums in lilac, cornflower, cerise and pink on a peach background. Double layered and smocked through the entire midriff for texture and opacity, the hem is spiral tiered. This is lovely with Prada satin mary janes and a very tiny Jamin Puech handbag with insanely long fringe. Made for Lady Caprice, the bust measures 34", hips 34" and length 42". Excellent condition. $610.00
